About Me

Hello! I’m Jess. I love to read, travel, take pictures, and all things French. I graduated in 2010 with a BA in English from UNCC and in 2012 my husband and I moved to Seattle from North Carolina in search of better jobs. To help meet more friends, I created and host a monthly ladies comic book club. Through it I have met a lot of great friends and read some comics I wouldn’t have otherwise. Comics I recommend reading: Saga, the Autumnlands, Rat Queens, Shutter, and Glory.

Most evenings you can find me with a book (or kindle) in hand. As part of the Ace Roc Street Team, I get to review advanced copies of many of their new releases *GRABBY HANDS*. I also stalk NetGalley for new books that look promising. My favorite genres are comics, sci-fi/fantasy, French memoirs, cozies, and magical realism. My absolute FAVORITE author is Gail Carriger and other favorites include Brandon Mull, Delilah S. Dawson, Faith Hunter, Charlaine Harris, Jessica Randall, Antoine Laurain, and Victoria Schwab.

I also really love to cook; it’s the one area where I really push myself to try new things. A big inspiration for me is Clotilde Dusoulier, who is behind the blog Chocolate and Zucchini. She is French, bien sur.

Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA. The most beautiful cemetery in one of my favorite cities.

Thanks for reading!
